Rose Lake                                        Rose Lake, Rose Lake Park, Osceola County, Michigan

The Osceola County Parks Commission has two separate and unique parks in its park system.  They are both situated on a lake, bordered by forest, and offer limitless opportunities for both the sportsman and recreational enthusiast.

Rose Lake Park, located on Rose Lake, and Crittenden Park, located on Big Lake both offer great fishing.  Other recreational opportunities include camping, swimming, and other day use activities such as picnic tables, playground, pavilions, etc.  Additionally, Rose Lake Park is located near the White Pine Trail and Crittenden Park is located near the Pere Marquette State Trail.

Camping is available by the day, week, month, or season.  You can use the menu bar on the left to view announcements, a map of each park, and other information.

Come and enjoy clean, well-maintained facilities and grounds, friendly and helpful staff, great swimming and fishing, and a variety of recreational activities.

The Recreation Plan is non-directive in nature; however, it fulfills several very important objectives:

  • It helps ensure coordination between the Parks Commission and local units of government and governmental entities.
  • It gives the Parks Commission an opportunity to receive formal feedback from the public.
  • It provides the Parks Commission an opportunity to reflect and focus on the direction of their efforts.
  • It supports Goal #11, Action #2 of the Osceola County, Michigan Future Land Use Plan; "The County Planning Commission and the County Board of Commissioners will maintain an up-to-date countywide recreation plan and apply for appropriate grants to improve recreation opportunities in Osceola County."
  • It allows the Parks Commission to apply for grants through the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund. In order to do so, the Plan must be filed with, and approved by, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
