Vital Records (Birth, Death, Marriage)

Birth Records
Michigan Law states that certified copies of birth records can be issued only to the individual, the parent(s) named on the record, an heir, or legal guardian.

State Driver's License or State ID must be presented by all persons requesting a certified copy of a birth certificate.  If the person requesting the document has no State Driver's License or State ID, they must have three other forms of identification.  Legal Guardians must provide a copy of their legal guardianship papers. Individuals with power of attorney must provide their power of attorney papers.

Marriage Licenses & Death Records
Birth Records, Marriage Licenses and Death Records can be requested via mail, fax or in person.  If submitted by mail or fax, the Birth Record Application must be completed and submitted with a photo copy of a Driver's License or State ID along with a money order in the amount of the total copies requested, made out to "Osceola County Clerk".  (Marriage Licenses and Death Records do not need to have a photo ID included with the Application and payment.)

Fees for certified copies of birth, marriage or death records:
$12.00 for the first certified copy.
$6.00 for each additional copy of the same document.

Payment by card over the phone is accepted.  There is a base charge of $2.50 for using a card. If you wish to pay by card, please state that on your application, along with a contact number.

All Applications for Birth, Death and Marriage Records are available in the Vital Records Folder posted below.
