PUBLIC NOTICE – Notice is hereby given, that on the 4^th day of February 2008, a petition was filed with Jerry Powell, Drain Commissioner of the County of Osceola asking for the abandonment and vacating of an upper portion of the Sylvan #3 County Drain, in the Township of Sylvan, Osceola County, Michigan.  A public meeting will be held pertaining to the abandonment the 11^th day of March, 2008 at the Osceola County Court Building, 301 West Upton, Reed City, Michigan at 10:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Room.

The Drain Commissioner is a part-time position.  Much of the work performed by the Drain Commissioner is accomplished outside of the office.  Individuals wishing to speak with the Drain Commissioner should leave a message on his answering machine.  He will get back to you as soon as possible.

The Drain Commissioner is responsible for overseeing the drainage ways in the County.  These activities include; Establishing New Drainage Districts, Maintaining Existing County Drains, and Improving Inland Lakes.
