THE OSCEOLA COUNTY PARKS IS SEEKING HOST CAMPERS FOR THE 2012 SEASON.

Do you enjoy camping and helping others? Osceola County Parks is seeking Host Campers to volunteer at our two county parks for the 2012 camping season. Volunteers can work a week, month or for the season. In exchange for 20 hours of work, the volunteer will receive a week of camping free. You can accumulate your hours and use them at a later time if you volunteer a week at a time. Volunteers that work on a monthly or seasonal basis will receive free camping during their volunteer service.

Host campers assist the Park Manager in a variety of duties. Duties may include registration and providing information to campers, organizing camping activities, light maintenance, patrolling the campground and other tasks. Host campers must be 18 years of age or older and have their own camping gear.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL HOSTS:

• Provide services five days a week if volunteering monthly or seasonally, or accumulate 20 hours of volunteer service to receive your one week free camping.
• You must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Must provide own camping unit, equipment and personal items for your stay.
• You are required to pass a background check.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Host campers are selected by the Parks Director and may require an interview. Selection is based on familiarity with camping, camping experience, special skill, availability and needs of the park.
