Osceola County Planning Commission

September 26, 2007

The meeting of the Osceola County Planning Commission was called to order by Rich Jacobs at 4:15 p.m.

Present: Greg White, Jerry Lindquist, Dan Massy, Pete Ermatinger, Rich Jacobs, Ken Ford, Tom Bluhm and Fay Wilson.

Absent: Larry Emig, Gloria Eisenga, Alan Tiedt and Dwight Gingrich.

Others: Kim Yost.

ADDITIONS AND DELETIONS TO THE AGENDA: None.

Motion by Fay Wilson, supported by Jerry Lindquist to approve the agenda. Motion carried.

Public Comments: None.

Motion by Dan Massy, supported by Fay Wilson to approve the minutes of June 21, 2007 as presented. Motion carried.

Highland Township Farmland and Open Space Preservation Program Applications

Jerry Lindquist gave an overview of P. A. 116. Brief discussion was held on P. A. 116, how it relates to farmland preservation and conditions that must be met by participants in the Preservation Program.

The Planning members then reviewed and discussed the Farmland and Open Space Preservation Program applications presented by Highland Township. The applications were from Gregory and Sandra Pluger, Alva and Connie Grover, and Veddler Dairy Farm.

Motion by Tom Bluhm, supported by Pete Ermatinger to recommend Highland Township accepts the Farmland and Open Space Preservation Program applications from Gregory and Sandra Pluger, Alva and Connie Grover, and Veddler Dairy Farm. Motion carried.

Solid Waste Management Plan Update

Discussion was held on responses from governmental entities in the County regarding Amendment #1 to the Solid Waste Management Plan. Kim indicated five responses have been received, with three approving the amendment and two denying.
